iOS Engineer

We are looking for an experienced iOS Engineer to support our Product Engineering efforts. As one of the founding mobile engineers you will be instrumental in Anthropic's mission to build safe, reliable, and beneficial AI systems across mobile platforms.

About Anthropic

Anthropic is an AI safety startup working to ensure AI systems are safe, reliable, and beneficial. Our interdisciplinary team has experience across machine learning, physics, policy, business and product.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and iterate on core iOS app features and flows
• Swift code
• Write reusable, testable, and self-documenting
• Implement pixel-perfect UI/UX designs for all iOS devices
• Diagnose and fix bugs and performance issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, test, release, and maintain iOS features

You may be a good fit if you:

• 8+ years of iOS development experience
• Proficiency in Swift or Objective C and core iOS frameworks
• Deep knowledge of UIKit and/or SwiftUI
• Experience integrating RESTful web services
• In-depth knowledge of iOS memory management, threading, and performance tuning
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field

Strong candidates may also:

• Familiarity with API design principles and developing reusable components
• Knowledge of common iOS architectures like MVVM and VIPER
• Experience optimizing iOS application performance
• Deep understanding of Swift language features, such as concurrency, its type system, etc.
• Passion for writing maintainable, tested code
• Interest in mentoring other iOS engineers
• Keen interest in making our app more accessible
• Experience developing design systems and reusable UI components
• Passion for the Apple ecosystem and community

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in our office at least 25% of the time.
